In the front row from left are Colin Joyce, then next [to the girl of course] is Ken Fitzpatrick, and next to the next young lady is Dennis Toohey.
These three all joined on 26 February 1942 and the photograph was taken at the Castlereagh Dude Ranch located between Penrith and Richmond on the occasion of their first Annual Leave in 1943.
Fortunately or unfortunately, as the case may be, Colin is the only survivor of the trio.
Incidentally he continued to take holidays and spend weekends at the Dude Ranch for the next 5 years - probably a frustrated Mountie. For several of those years he used to be the leader taking guests through area from Penrith to Yarramundi, Londonderry and Richmond.
